Quarterback Long verbally commits to Syracuse, becomes second in Class of 2014
Quarterback A.J. Long from Lebanon, Tenn., became the second player to verbally commit to Syracuse for the Class of 2014, committing to the Orange Wednesday, according to Scout.com.
Long was unofficially visiting SU when he made the verbal commitment, according to Scout.com.
Long, a 6-foot-2-inch, 190-pound quarterback from Friendship Christian School (Tenn.), has not been rated by Scout. He originally played for Pius X in Bangor, Pa. before transferring in May 2012. Friendship Christian won the 2012 Tennessee 2A state title with Long under center.
He also had offers from Arizona, UCLA, Appalachian State, Massachusetts and Ohio, according to Scout. His Twitter header photo also features envelopes from Mississippi State and Pittsburgh.
