3-star Class of 2015 running back Strickland commits to Syracuse

Three-star running back Dontae Strickland verbally committed to Syracuse during his unofficial visit on Saturday, he announced via his Twitter account.

The South Brunswick (N.J.) High School junior chose Syracuse over offers from Rutgers, Wake Forest and Georgia Tech, among others according to Scout.com.

The 6-foot, 180-pound Strickland joins Tyrone Perkins (three stars) and Jordan Fredericks (three stars) as the running backs in the Orange’s Class of 2015. He is the ninth verbal commit in the class and first from New Jersey.

Said Strickland in a Facebook post: “I decided to take my talents to play college football for the next 4 years at Syracuse University. Just want to thank everyone who has been supporting me and has been helping me through this process. And just know that this all just the beginning.
