Former Syracuse defensive tackle Jay Bromley has been accused of trying to rape a woman at a New York hotel, per multiple media reports.
Bromley reportedly met the woman online and asked her to meet him at the Hyatt Herald Square Hotel. When she arrived, Bromley tried to rape her, per the report, and then struck her with his car.
Now a New York Giants defensive tackle, Bromley played in all 16 games in the 2015 NFL season and started four. He played for Syracuse from 2010-13. The Giants selected Bromley in the third round of the 2014 NFL Draft.
“We are aware of the situation and will continue to monitor it. We have notified the league office per the league’s protocol,” Giants spokesman Pat Hanlon said. “We will have no further comment as we understand this is an ongoing investigation.”
