In October, when Syracusesnap story went viral on campus, it showcased a stream of graphic photos and videos of drugs, alcohol and sexually explicit content. The Snapchat account was shut down by Snapchat just a few days after. However, the account announced that it moved to Yeti Campus Stories, another app where its content would not be censored. A Vanity Fair journalist wrote about Syracusesnap in a book that was released at the end of February. She said, “A lot of these images were very degrading and exploitative of women. There were pictures of girls passed out on the floor with their butts showing. I don’t know for sure, but is the average girl that you know going to post a picture of herself passed out on the floor with shot of her butt? Probably not, right?”
