Running back Marlon Mack missed South Florida's last game with a concussion but head coach Willie Taggart said he is "probable" for Saturday's game against Syracuse.

South Florida (2-0) running back Marlon Mack is “probable” for Saturday’s game against Syracuse (1-1, 0-1 Atlantic Coast), USF head coach Willie Taggart said on the American Athletic Conference coaches’ teleconference on Monday. He clarified that he was making the statement without having seen Mack yet on Monday and it took Taggart a few seconds to come to the designation of probable, “if I had to say right now.”

Mack sat out South Florida’s last game against Northern Illinois with a concussion that he suffered in the first week of the season.

“Whenever you can have your best player out there it’s always good for your team,” Taggart said.

Last year, Mack carried the ball 20 times for 184 yards and two touchdowns in a 45-24 win over Syracuse

SU and USF will kickoff at 3:30 p.m. in the Carrier Dome.
