Syracuse football recruiting: 5-star TE Chris Clark reportedly no longer transferring to SU
Former Class of 2015 five-star tight end Chris Clark won’t transfer to Syracuse, per multiple media reports. Rivals.com first reported the news.
Clark confirmed to The Daily Orange on Oct. 15 that he would transfer from UCLA to SU after leaving the team just one game into his freshman season. The Orange was the first team to offer Clark a scholarship during his recruitment in high school. He verbally committed to Michigan and North Carolina before settling on UCLA.
According to Scout.com, Clark chose to leave UCLA due to homesickness. He played at Don Bosco (New Jersey) Preparatory High School with current Syracuse freshmen Daivon Ellison and Kyle Kleinberg before transferring to Avon Old Farms (Connecticut) School.
Prior to choosing SU, he exchanged tweets with several players on the Orange. On Oct. 19, he alluded to being at Syracuse’s game against Pittsburgh on Saturday.

Clark’s choice of where to transfer to originally came down to SU and Pitt, the team that beat Syracuse 23-20 on a last-second field goal just two days ago.
