Syracuse jumped to No. 7 in the Inside Lacrosse rankings after ranking 11th last week.
The four-spot climb in the polls comes after Syracuse throttled Binghamton 21-4 in the team’s season opener on Saturday in the Carrier Dome. Twelve different players scored for the Orange against Binghamton, including five goals from senior attack Brendan Bomberry. SU dominated possession as Danny Varello went 15-of-17 from the faceoff X, while his team scooped up 43 groundballs to Binghamton’s 13.
All five ACC teams cracked the top 15 with Duke remaining at No.1 and No. 9 Notre Dame, No. 10 Virginia and No. 14 North Carolina coming in behind Syracuse.
Syracuse plays No. 4 Albany, which bumped down a spot after not playing yet this season, on Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Carrier Dome.
