Syracuse men’s soccer 2019 schedule released, will face 8 NCAA tournament teams

Syracuse's 2018 season ended in the first round of the NCAA tournament to Akron.

Syracuse released its 2019 regular season schedule on Monday afternoon. The Orange are set to play eight matches against teams that competed in the 2018 NCAA tournament. SU finished the 2018 season 7-7-4 (1-4-3 Atlantic Coast). It fell to Virginia Tech, 3-1, in the opening round of the ACC tournament and Akron, 3-1, in the opening round of the NCAA tournament.

Syracuse opens its season on the road against Georgetown on Aug. 30. Then, it plays five consecutive home games, including a contest against ACC foe Louisville on Sept. 13 — SU’s first conference game of the season.

In their final 10 regular season games, the Orange will face three nonconference opponents — Cornell, Albany and Connecticut — and seven conference opponents. SU ends its season with games against Clemson, North Carolina State and Boston College, its longest stretch against ACC teams of the season.
