Syracuse dominates, players set personal highs in final home game

In Syracuse’s final home game, the team came out with fire. Many personal records and season highs were accomplished just a few days removed from two straight losses on the road.

SU won in four sets against Boston College, a team that it previously beat a little more than two weeks ago. Syracuse fell in the first set, 25-23, but was able to rally. It won the second set 25-18 and the final two sets 25-20.

Setter Erica Handley recorded her first career double-double in the game, racking up 26 assists and 10 digs, becoming the complete player head coach Leonid Yelin had hoped for in the beginning of the season. She also recorded six kills and three blocks.

Middle blocker Lindsey McCabe tallied a season-high 10 kills and recording six total blocks. Outside hitter Nicolette Serratore had a career-high 22 digs while adding nine kills.

Silvi Uattara set a personal high, as well, recording 20 digs. She also added seven kills, but recorded a team high eight errors. Keeping the trend going, defensive specialist Melina Violas recorded double-digit assists for the 13th time in the past 15 games.

The Orange will finish up the season on the road this Saturday when it takes a trip to South Bend, Ind., to face Notre Dame at 2 p.m.
